Self Managed Super Funds
The Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF) space is constantly evolving and morphing with changing governments and policies, as well as the continued growing wealth in these structures. SMSFs currently have a very attractive tax rate, hence why more and more wealth has been accumulating and is a valid option when investing and building family wealth overall. Because of this, it is a very heavily regulated area, with strict reporting and lodgement obligations as well as having an extensive list of requirements and costs in establishing and maintaining a SMSF.
In line with its complexity, clients are encouraged to get advice as to whether a SMSF is the right structure for them with a financial planner and to engage with them for continued scrutiny over the investments and returns to ensure it remains the right structure. From a lodgement point of view, we prepare financial statements and annual tax returns in-house, tapping into our resource of Hannah! our very own Self Managed Super Fund Specialist, who oversees and manages all the relevant lodgement obligations that SMSFs face in changing times. Each fund must also be audited by an independent auditor, who we have mindfully chosen to ensure clients work never leave the country in an increasing offshoring market.
We want to ensure that clients with SMSFs have peace of mind that we are able to provide advice on the taxation of your SMSF, correctly process payment instructions, like rollovers and pension establishments, as well as provide scrutiny over how your SMSF is managed by other third parties. With a structure that holds so much of your wealth, it's important to get the right advice, all the time. We're able to provide our SMSF clients complete transparency over their funds performance, as well as provide continued feedback on its regulatory acumen and even pair our SMSF clients to other professionals, like financial planners and lenders, to assist in keeping the wealth in their SMSF appropriately managed.
Joy Jensen is allied with Chartered Accountants Australia, SmarterSMSF and SMSF Association to keep up to date with regulatory and reporting changes with all SMSFs.
